The Beacon building is a mixed-use building that redefines part of Lake Oswego’s downtown fabric, offering pedestrian-oriented retail spaces at the street level, two levels of co-working office space above, and a world-class event space at the top level with views overlooking Mt. Located at the convergence of two neighborhoods and along one of Portland’s busiest corridors, the renovation and expansion of the Stadium Fred Meyer Retail Store on West Burnside represents an urban response to both community and context. The new design balances the programmatic needs of the client, the ethos of the neighborhoods, and the guidance of the Portland Design Commission. MachineWorks is a mixed-use, urban infill development in Portland’s Pearl District located on the site of a former light industrial building. The new building includes a two-story, 46,000 SF fitness club at ground level, three levels of elevated parking, and 70,000 SF of office and commercial space spanning four floors. The exterior of the building features industrial materials and scale elements treated carefully to achieve a uniform but compelling aesthetic. Mackenzie provided comprehensive A/E services for this two-building, build-to-suit development on a 10.5-acre brownfield site. Building One, a 110,000 SF tilt concrete building with 26’ clear, includes warehouse (90,000 SF), office (12,000 SF), showroom (4,000 SF), and maintenance shop (4,000 SF) functions. A 950 SF training room accommodates architectural continuing education courses, roofing seminars and subcontractor events.
