The contemporary apartment building is designed to smoothly integrate higher-density living into a residential context characterized by single-family housing. Project
Mackenzie provided comprehensive A/E services for this 3-story, 26,000 SF student housing complex on the growing NE Portland campus of Concordia University. The program for the two-building complex includes a mix of studio, one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom student apartments, a centralized onsite laundry facility, 32 secure bike storage spaces, and a community center. Concordia University School of Law and George R. White Law Library

Project
Mackenzie was hired, as part of the firm’s continued relationship with Concordia University, to develop a project program, assist with evaluation of suitable existing buildings, and aid in site selection for new construction or renovation for a new law school and law library in Boise, Idaho. Upon completion of the program and selection of the site, work progressed into development of construction documents and construction of the three-story facility. Concordia University retained Mackenzie to design a new sports soccer and baseball field facility. The University desired a facility that would attract talented athletes and serve as a source of pride for both the University and the surrounding community. The field orientations and dimensions for the 1,200-seat stadium were based on Concordia University staff recommendations and NCAA/NAIA standards. The LEED Gold-certified library and learning center is adjacent to a single-family residential neighborhood in NE Portland. At nearly 74,000 SF, the three-story library and multi-classroom building is the largest building on campus, holds twice the volume of the old library, and more than doubles the amount of classroom space on campus. Oregon State University Student Legacy Park

Project
Funded entirely by student referendum, Student Legacy Park provides a much loved intramural athletic facility and campus gathering area in the core of the Oregon State University campus. The final design incorporates a wide matrix of athletic uses with an active streetscape and central activity plaza. Designers developed a linear park along Intramural Way, and Mackenzie’s engineers coordinated with the City of Corvallis and university planning staff to design streetscape improvements along 26th Street, 30th Street, and Intramural Way.
