Hazel Dell Square
Gramor Development hired Mackenzie to provide architectural and structural engineering services for three buildings in this five-building, eight-acre retail center at NE 78th Street and Hazel Dell Avenue. Mackenzie provided design services for buildings one, two, and four, 37,629 SF of the center's total 68,153 SF. The buildings’ designs include varied elements and materials, including brick veneer, stone, stucco, sloped roofs, canopies, and steel and wood accent features. The client desired the use of moment frames within the building to allow for larger storefront openings, providing a greater visibility into the tenant spaces. Phasing of the project accommodated relocation of an existing tenant to one of the new buildings prior to demolition work to make room for the balance of the new development.
